Blue and White Chinoiserie Oval Vases
I see these beautiful oval vases on tables, especially around this time of the year. And every time I go looking for them. They really are beautiful!
Here are three more that I found on Amazon.
Asian Caravan Blue and White Bird and Flower Porcelain Footbath with Base
The first one is from Asian Caravan. It has a traditional chinoiserie garden pattern of birds and branches. The top border is the same lattice pattern I have on my Blue Willow china.
The base that comes with it looks black, like it is ebony stained.
The bowl is large, 19″ long, 10 1/2″ wide and 6″ high.
I don’t know if the 6″ in the measurements they give include the height of the base, but it doesn’t look like it. It looks like the base would add another inch or so to the height.
They call it a “footbath with base.” It has a lovely traditional shape.
(I keep saying traditional over and over, but that is what I am looking for and I really can’t think of a better word here.)
Here is a detail in the pattern. The shades of blue are really beautiful!
I see a little adjustment. If you look, you can nearly always find these on transferware. It doesn’t bother me at all.
The basin has a pattern inside, too. The garden with birds.

This beautiful floral porcelain foot bath makes a great decorative centerpiece or planter. White porcelain with two large handles, hand painted scenes finished in a blue. Hand painted detail continues on the inside.

Landscape Scene Blue and White Porcelain Foot Basin with Stand from Asian Style Furnishing or East Enterprises
I found two different listings for this one, from Asian Style Furnishing or East Enterprises. They both come with the base, but you could certainly use it without, like above with the orchids!
The bowl is almost the same size at the one from Asian Caravan. It is 19″ long, 10″ wide and 6″ high.
They are made of porcelain, then painted with cobalt.
The pattern has scenes framed with patterns. The scenes are small and stylized. They incorporate some of the same motifs as Blue Willow pattern, with the little figures, trees and bridges.
Blue and White Footbath by East Enterprises
Classic blue and white, this lovely hand painted Chinese blue and white porcelain foot bath makes a wonderful center piece or planter. Hand painted detail continues on the inside.
At home in both traditional and transitional decors, this is truly a versatile piece.
The footbath measures 19″ long x 10″ wide x 6″ high. The black base is included.
Winward Blue and White Porcelain Oval Scenic Planter
This one is called a planter. Although it is called oval, it is not really an oval. It has a really nice shape.
The planter has a different shape than the two footbaths above. It is the nearly the same height and width, 10 3/4″ wide and 6″ high. But it is not as long, 15 1/2″ instead of 19″ or so.
The pattern is a European scene. It looks British to me. The listing says that it is similar to those at Monticello, Thomas Jefferson’s home.
The inside is fully decorated, with the pattern on the bottom and sides inside the planter.
Many of the foot baths have a lip on the inside. It made it easier to carry water without sloshing it. Many planters, vases and bowls don’t have this lip. This one looks like it has the lip.
Winward Blue and White Porcelain Oval Scenic Planter
