Awesocrafts Blue Willow Cross Stitch Kit
The Awesocrafts Blue Willow Cross Stitch Kit is supposed to be “perfect for all ages, beginners, kids, adults or advanced stitchers.” I ordered it, so I’ll let you know. I used to cross stitch, but it has been many years.
The pattern comes printed on the fabric. The details say 51×51 cm/20.1×20.1 inches in one place and 14 CT, 40×40 cm/15.7×15.7 inches in another place. So… is the fabric 20″ square and the design is 16″ square? When it gets here, I’ll let you know.

The kit contains:

Heritage Crafts makes a very faithful version of the Blue Willow story in a cross stitch. It has everything, the pagoda, bridge, island, birds, boat… willow tree of course.
The only information given on this kit is that it is returnable. But a reviewer says it comes with the 14-count aida fabric and the floss. She says the kit is really well-laid out and the stitch diagrams are particularly nice. Another reviewer says the colors are good. It results in a 11 1/2″ piece.
If you know what you are doing, you can order just the chart and instructions. It uses only two colors of floss.

What’s in the kit?
This is just the paper that shows through the wrapper.
The fabric is 19 1/2″ x 19 1/2″.
The pattern will end up 15 1/2″ x 15 1/2″ to the edge of the border.
The instructions are detailed enough, even if you have never cross stitched before. (Or if it’s been 20 or 30 years…)
This is the key to the pattern. Each number is a page in the instruction book. Below is page 5.
You can see how the pattern gives you a map for what color goes where.
The kit comes with cotton floss. The pattern uses quite a few shades of blue. The blues coordinate perfectly with the cobalt blue in the rest of my house.
The kit even includes the needles. So you can get started right away.
