Piano Lamps
A piano lamp is kind of like a desk lamp. It lights the keys and sheet music without glare. Often they can be adjusted, aimed and angled to light what you want without any direct light going into your eyes.

Slimline grand piano light with 10 foot black cord and switch on cord. Shade swivels to direct light.
Choose a piano lamp that stands on the piano, clips onto the music stand or stands on the floor.
Features to look for:
- Glare Reduction: Hoods and shades direct light onto the sheet music and keys, not the player’s eyes.
- Even Illumination: Consistent light across the keys and music without hot spots and shadows.
- Adjustability: Flexible arms, adjustable shades and dimmer or high/low controls
Some LED piano lights also include color modes for the light quality most comfortable for the player.
Most piano lights sit on the piano. They can be easily moved to light where you want. The base is heavy, so the lamp won’t tip or bounce.

Concert Light
Floor Piano Lamps
These piano lamps stand on the floor. Choose one that reaches far enough across the piano to put the light where you want. They come in sizes to fit upright, baby grand, and grand pianos.

Clip On Piano Lights
Clip directly to the music stand. They usually have felt or slip-resistant lining to protect the piano’s finish.

Battery Operated Piano Lamp Concert Light
Battery Powered Piano Lamps
Most piano lamps plug in. Battery-operated piano lamps are ideal for concerts. They provide cordless, portable illumination.
They are available with rechargeable battery packs or that can use batteries. LED uses so much less power, these are now practical.
